Spooky Paintball, a new design I received from my client to prepare, turned out quite challenging. The design has been pre-rasterized in low lines count, and the colors were offset, making it hard to separate. The client had the possibility to print only 7 colors, so I had to reduce their number. I prepared two versions to choose which will look better. One where the design is without a last white which gave me one additional color. The second where is one color less in order to print a last white. The client chose the first version. He printed the version with more colors but didn’t print the black.
This is the original design received from my customer from the USA. He has only 6 available printing heads so I decided to separate it to cmyk process with white underbase.
Unfortunately, this design has many color shades which are not reproducible with CMYK. Gray areas show these problematic shades – gamut warning!.
This is a separated design to the cmyk process. I decided to add one light Pantone blue color to achieve some light blue shades.
